Twitter for Android has a New Face! Have You Unveiled it Yet?

The allegedly busy bunch of Twitter‘s developers has come up with yet another upgrade for the Twitter Android App. Amidst their tight schedule of updating code for Macs and preparing the app for Glass, the team took out time to gift Android users with an updated version of the application, which promises to bring in some new functionalities, while fixing the necessary bugs and launching unnamed improvisations. Search

Search has become more simplified. As you type in your queries, you get suggestions for related terms and spellings. Moreover, you can find people around you quickly. All you need to do is to type in a person’s first name, last name or user name in the Connect tab, and the app will auto complete the name if it belongs to someone you are following.

A special provision has been incorporated for iPhone users. They can see their recent search queries as they tap on the Search box. Moreover, they can directly visit someone’s profile as they type in a username in the Connect tab.

Discover

With the Discover tab, you can find new, enticing and timely content which is of interest to you. This update lets you see Activity for Twitter application on Android. Activity is a continuing stream of updates which show you the tweets which have been retweeted or marked favorite by the people you are connected with. Moreover, you can have a sneak peek into the accounts these people are following or the people they add to lists.

You can find Activity underneath the redesigned stories in Discover. Now you can find tweets about a particular news article or trend, you simply need to tap on a story. Thereon, you can read the complete story and be a part of it by retweeting, replying or favoriting related tweets, if you wish to.

Notifications

Finally, the team has made interaction more exciting. With the incorporation push notifications, you can immediately get an alert when someone retweets your tweet or marks it as favorite or when someone starts following you. Furthermore, you have the option of managing your push notifications to stay as connected as you wish to.

In addition to the aforementioned changes, Android will get an easy access for swapping between accounts and manage their search settings by simply using the Menu button. In case of the iPhone app users have the option of inviting their buddies to join them on Twitter form within the app itself- in case you are acquainted with any poor soul who is not following the 140 character stream yet! Furthermore, as you reply to an RT, the name of the author as well as retweeter will be included in your reply.
